Saturday morning, while the hubs was mowing the lawn, I decided to sneak away for a bit and run some errands. Nothing major, just get the car washed and make a stop at Walmart.
While I was there I decided to make a stop in their cosmetics department to see what goodies I could find and here's what I scooped up.
I bought wayyyyy more than I intended to. Yikes! But honestly, that's nothing new. Let's get right into the goods.
I'm definitely a fan of plum/purple lipsticks. They look great on warm tan/olive/brown skin tones. I've wanted Brazen Berry from Maybelline for a while now and since Fall is right around the corner I figured, "Why not?" I love this color so much! I highly recommend it.
I know I just posted about some makeup wipes that I was in love with, and that still stands. However, I always like to try new makeup wipes and these just so happen to be on sale for around $4. They are comparable to the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes in Lavender. I'm eager to see how these work out. I love the Neutrogena ones.
I've been on the hunt for a nice domed bronzer brush for a while and when I came across this one I snagged it. It was around $10 which is a little steep for what I consider a drugstore brand brush but I was feeling generous today. This brush is soooooo soft!! I can't say that enough. Even as I write this post I'm brushing it across my face. It's heaven. It's their Domed Bronzer brush.
Remember I posted a short while ago about the Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments that I spotted at Target? Wellllll, while I was at Walmart I found a few with some '$1 off Now' coupons and I figured this was a good a time as any to pick one up. I wanted to stay away from the neutrals (Which I LOVE!) and purchased a gorgeous dark green color. This color is Forest Fatale. Perfect for Fall.
Keeping up with my vow to step away from neutrals for a little while, I decided to try out L'Oreal's Infalliable eye shadows that (from what I've heard) are a drugstore version of pressed pigments. I chose a gorgeous purple color called Perpetual Purple. Seeing as how purple is my favorite color and looks great on brown eyes, I can't wait to try this color out.
Every now and then I purchase a new concealer. Not because I need one, because I have plenty, but simply because I could always find one that works better than the one I'm currently using. I've heard a lot about the L'Oreal Magic Lumi Highlighting Concealer but couldn't find it on this run to Walmart. I did, however, come across what seems to be a Maybelline version of that same concealer. Its the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlight Concealer. I got mine in the color Buff since I didn't want something too light and this one looked perfect for my tan skin. I'll keep you all posted on how I like it.
As you can see, I'm on a roll with L'Oreal products. I've been wanting to pick up this smoldering eye kohl for such a long time. With just my luck they were all out of the black, but I picked up the brown just to test it out. I like using brown as my eyeliner on a daily basis if I don't want anything too harsh. I'm hoping this thing lives up to the hype.
Last but definitely not least. My whole reason for REALLY stopping in the beauty isle. I needed a new foundation, per usual. I mentioned in a recent post how I've been loving my MAC Studio Fix foundation but very shortly after that I started using my Revlon Colorstay Whipped foundation and fell back in love with it. I'm telling you guys, if you've never tried it you definitely need to get your hands on it. Scan YouTube for reviews on it and I'm sure you wont find any negative reviews. It's so worth it. I've wanted to try the original Colorstay foundation for a while and finally went on the hunt to find it. The color I chose was True Beige, which isn't the color that I have my Colorstay Whipped foundation in (I have that one in 370 Natural Tan, which I think is a perfect match) but it just so happens that True Beige is a perfect match as well, go figure. I'll be doing a mini review on this foundation after I've been using it for about a week or two so stay tuned for that.
Whew! That was more than I expected. What new goodies have you guys picked up? What do you think about the products that I picked up?
